“Papua New Guinea is thoroughly evangelized at the face level. What we need in Papua New Guinea Churches today is a deeper understanding of Gods’ word. We are reminded of Hosea 4:6 where it states; “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge” (NIV). Lack of Gods’ knowledge has made many of our church leaders and members dry. The zeal, enthusiasm and the impetus seemed to have faded.”
~ Ps Issac Pulupe – Dean of Distance Education CLTC
Distance Education refers to a style of learning that allows students to stay in their established homes and ministry settings. One Distance Education method that CLTC offers is Theological Education by Extension (TEE). Students are encouraged to join groups with a tutor to do each study, although individuals may do them on their own as isolated students.
Those interested in taking up TEE studies or tutoring a TEE group may write to the Dean of Distance Education for the TEE Prospectus and application papers. Short courses are also run for TEE tutor training. The two CLTC Urban Centres at Port Moresby and Lae co- ordinate TEE programs and can be contacted for further information.
Each TEE course is divided into a number of studies. On average each study takes five hours to complete. Isolated students will send assignments to CLTC for marking. Those in tutorial groups will give their assignments to their tutor who will send the marks to CLTC. After completing each course a certificate of accomplishment will be provided.
